Street Fighter 5’s cinematic story mode will be released on Friday, and publisher Capcom launched a full trailer today to tease the game. The game will be based in New York City and the story mode is titled “A Shadow Falls”. It will bridge the gap between Street Fighter 4 and Street Fighter 3. The campaign will bounce between all sixteen base game combatants as well as six of the post-launch downloadable characters. Capcom has announced last week that Ibuki and Balrog will be added in Street Fighter 5’s roster in addition to the story mode’s release. The characters will be included in the 1.04 update. This will also include matchmaking improvements, two new stages and three additional alternate stage options. The update also introduces an in-game shop for real money transactions via the PlayStation Store or Steam. Earlier in the month Capcom announced it had cancelled plans to add Zenny, which is a currency that would have been bought with real money. The 1.04 patch will include battle costumes for 20 characters and can be purchased with real money. Players will be able to buy Balrog’s and Ibuki’s story costumes with either real money or Fight Money. The premium costumes and new stages will cost $3.99 or 70,000 Fight Money each, new characters will cost $5.99 or 100,000 FM. Story outfits and alternate stages will cost $1.99 or 40,000 FM each.
