E3 2016: Nintendo Unveils ‘Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’ Trailer & More Revealed

Before Nintendo’s kicked things off their E3 2016 Nintendo Treehouse presentation today with a trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

The trailer begins with dramatic background music, then a woman tells Link to “open his eyes.” He then explores Hyrule by using a parachute to float through the air, climbing cliffs, chopping trees, swimming, building a wall.

The trailer also gives us a look at some of Link’s weapons, which include his bow and arrow, a sword, and new weaponry like explosive arrows, a spear, and an axe.

This is the world’s first in-depth look at The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

According to Series Producer Eiji Aonuma, this new game differs from previous ones in the series. Breath of the Wild removes players’ restrictions on following a certain route.

The Legend of Zelda launches in 2017 for Wii U. It’s also set to debut on Nintendo’s next console, currently codenamed Nintendo NX.
